Desmond has a boy-next-door appeal which will immediately attract viewers’ attention. His chiselled features and great smile give him that telegenic aura that is so crucial in the entertainment industry.

Desmond first came to prominence in the entertainment industry when he finished runner-up in Star Search 2007. He was awarded a contract with MediaCorp and began his acting career with some minor roles in various Channel 8 dramas. After almost five years in the industry, Tan won his first award, the Rocket Award, at the 2012 Star Awards for the biggest breakthrough after a critically acclaimed performance as rickshaw driver Luo Xiaoxiao in the anniversary drama A Song to Remember.

Being adventurous and extroverted, it is no doubt that Desmond considers extreme sports as his hobby. One of his favourite sports is the triathlon. A person of diverse interests, you will be surprised that he enjoys cooking too. Desmond also took part in several competitions during his school days and won numerous awards. He took home the “Most Stylish Award” and was also the WINNER in the “Crave 04 Junior College Pageant”. Desmond also took part in the 2008 CLEO Magazine “50 Most Eligible Bachelor” and won the “Most Eye-Catching Bachelor Award”.

Being effectively bilingual and new in the entertainment industry, Desmond hopes to excel his talents in both channels productions. He will put his best in all his roles and hosting projects. A man of calibre, Desmond is definitely one rising star.

Desmond received the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Real Estate, Second Upper Class from National University of Singapore (NUS)

Desmond also love animals. He believes strongly in adopting animals. Having 2 furkids on his own, he often talks about how anyone could help in giving furkids a better home by adopting responsibly. Hoshi and Udon are Desmond’s 2 furkids, both adopted, they constantly fill Desmond’s heart with their presence!
